Ingredients & Nutrition
Here’s a look at the ingredients list of the “Dark Chocolate Dreams” flavour: peanuts, evaporated cane juice, cocoa, cocoa butter, vanilla, lecithin (from sunflower), palm fruit oil, and salt. The palm fruit oil is sourced sustainably from Malaysia.
A 2 tbsp serving contains:
- 170 calories
- 13g of fat
- 6g of protein
- 2g of fibre
- 7g of sugar.
Compared to regular natural peanut butter, it’s a lot higher in sugar, but it’s really more of a treat anyways!
Flavours & Texture
First things, Dark Chocolate Dreams smells amazing, a lot like peanut butter cups. The texture is velvety and smooth. Not only does this peanut butter smell like peanut butter cups, it also tastes like them too, rich and chocolately. I first tried it on a bagel with a little but of slices almonds on top, it was fantastic. I’ve also eaten it straight with a spoon, which may have been even better.
I’ve been wanting to try this line of peanut butters for what feels like forever. I noticed them for the first time this past summer at a Safeway while on a road trip home to BC. They recently became available at my local Safeway, so I picked up a few flavours! I’d recommend it in chocolate oatmeal, or trying out some peanut butter recipes with it. I’m really excited to try “White Chocolate Wonderful”, I’m always so thankful for companies that make vegan white chocolate!
