Snapguide Summer Smoothie Contest – We entered our Green Power Protein Smoothie and our PB & Banana Iced Mocha into Snapguide’s Summer Smoothie Contest. I don’t usually enter contests, but this one seemed right up our alley and the grand prize was a Vitamix (which I’ve been drooling over for ages now!) You can check out our entries here.
Our Green Power Protein Smoothie ended up winning the grand prize!! My Vitamix is being shipped out this week and I can’t wait to start using it! The grand prize also included some other cool stuff like a smoothie cookbook, chia seeds, goji berries, and a giftcard. Look out for some of those items in a giveaway soon!
Bolthouse Farms Food Porn Index Campaign – We also got to do a campaign on Garden of Vegan for Bolthouse Farms and their Food Porn Index. They’re tracking hashtags on social media to measure how much healthy vs. unhealthy food pictures are shared on the internet. I wrote a small post talking about the negative effects unhealthy food porn can have on our eating habits, and how to take mouthwatering fruit and veggie pics to promote healthier eating.
What’s Coming in August
Guide to Cooking Amazing Tofu – I get asked questions about cooking tofu all the time, so I’ve put together a comprehensive guide to cooking tofu that will be out right away. It’ll include some great info on tofu, plus a huge round up of all of my tofu recipes (separated by meals) with links to my tofu tutorial.
Body positivity & Intuitive eating – I’ve been meaning to share more about my experience with healthy weight loss, disordered eating & recovery, and intuitive eating. I’ve been feeling more balanced physically and mentally than ever before, so I feel ready to start sharing more of that with you. My first post will be about strategies I’ve used to help get over my obsession with weight.
Recipes – We’ve got some great recipes on the go for August. We had some great feedback from this post on tumblr, so we’re working on a recipe for Peanut Teriyaki Tofu Stir-Fry. We’ve also got an amazing deluxe banana bread recipe on the go, some 5 minute whole food granola bars, and a super easy carrot cake oatmeal recipe.
